Welcome from Katmom

Welcome to TEAM BBBOF (Bunker Babes Bidding on Fifty)
With you, we now have 200+ Members of the TEAM BBBOF!

If you haven’t sent me your pledge amount (either as a minimum/maximum or a flat pledge amount) now would be a good time to do so.

Your Minimum Bid can be as low as $5
& there is NO Maximum Bid

*Please give Kat your Forum/Twitter/FF name & the amount you wish to pledge when you email her*
Klspitz@aol.com

When the auction starts, on June 26, I will be signed in as TEAM BBBOF…and I’ll do the ALL the bidding for our Team.

The week before the auction I’ll be sending a reminder of your pledged amount via email as a reminder.

Please do not pay yet!!! I think we are going to win, but maybe the Crown Prince will step in and buy the MOTU/FIFTY outtake for his girlfriend…hopefully not…but if he does, I hope he will share with us…but, please, don’t pay yet!

Once we win…and I have faith that we WILL WIN…then you will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to pay your pledge through their site. By doing this, you won’t have to pay the PAYPAL fee and the donation will be TAX DEDUCTIBLE:

During the actual auction I will be sending out updates to let all the team members know how much we are bidding, how much we have pledged (two different numbers until the final day). You can also go to the auction itself and comment, encourage and see what's happening.

Once the auction is over (and we have won…) I’ll send you a note with the amount that you owe. You pay through Alex’s Lemonade Stand and send me the receipt. Once everyone has paid, I’ll let Icy know and she’ll send me the outtake…and I’ll send it out to you all. LOL, I promise to SEND it out immediately…and won’t just sit there and read it FIRST…LOL…really, I promise!

This is the reason for paying this way, as opposed to paying ME via PayPal, this was from the FGB admins:

Hey guys! We want to remind everyone that all funds need to go through the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation page at http://www.alexslemonade.org/stands/19842 and NOT collected via PayPal. We realize that some of the bids are only $5, and it means coordinating over a hundred small receipts, but this is the only way we can insure complete transparency of the financial transactions.

There has been some question as to why we insist on this. First and foremost, we need to ensure that all financial transactions associated with FGB can be traced and accounted for. If one person collects money through their PayPal account we have no way of ensuring that each team member's money is being sent along to ALSF. By directing your team to donate directly through the ALSF page and forward you the receipt, you cannot be contacted by someone who claims they donated and did not receive credit. Unfortunately, this became an issue last year and we want to prevent any of you from having to deal with it.

Second, bidders who pay directly through the ALSF donation page will not incur a service fee, their donation is tax deductible and their name will be added to the list of donors. They can personalize their name if they wish to represent the team/teams they are participating in. Example: Kathie Spitz / Team BBBOF.

Several charitable sites have been scrutinized lately, and we need to ensure that Fandom Gives Back is beyond reproach. It must be crystal clear that no funds are channeled through or benefit any person or organization other than Alex's Lemonade Stand. It is also important to emphasize, through our actions as well as our interactions, that none of us profit in any way from FGB, nor are there any funds channeled to organizational costs. FGB is run entirely with our free time, and without funding. One way to keep this type of information clear is to be completely open about how things are run.

When tweeting about FGB Team bids or any other coordination efforts related to FGB, please either include the hashtag #FGBEclipse or @fandomgivesback so that the public discussions are searchable by anyone. We have had some instances where people are acting on their own, trying to procure items and event paraphernalia on behalf of FGB, and it's important to that all of these efforts are done thoughtfully. We know that it seems like we are being overly cautious, but this charity is important to all of us and we want to make sure that there is no question that we are on the up-and-up.

We want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for giving of yourself, your time and your money to help in this amazing cause. Please know how grateful we are and what an honor it is to be working with you.

Again, if you have any questions please contact one of us at our respective emails, teamcoordinator@thefandomgivesback.com or info@thefandomgivesback.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between a pledge and a bid? A pledge is how much you are will to donate to the cause. A bid is placed during the auction. I will be the only one bidding for TEAM BBBOV...so when you make a pledge, I put it into our "war chest" and use those amounts to support the BIDS that I make.

2. How do i bid (or pledge money)? You just tell me that you want to be on TEAM BBBOF and how much you want to pledge. Also the name you want listed publicly on the team.

3. Do you know what chapter outtake it is? I'm asking for ideas on the MOTU Thread right now...you could send my your choice and I'll add it to the suggestions. Once we have enough to vote on, TEAM BBBOF will vote on the top three.

4. When do we need to pledge/pay by? You need to pledge before or during the auction. Once it's over, you should pay at the Foundation as soon as possible. I won't be sending the outtake until everyone has paid. Icy has until August 1 to finish it up, but she's a FAST writer, so we may get it somewhat earlier, but that really is up to her.

5. New Question: I have pledged $20 to this team, what if I want to increase my bid later? Can I do that at the last minute? Also, if you do combine the MOTU teams, will you guys just assume that I want both bids combined into a larger bid? Or will I need to email a new bid?

Answer:
You can always increase your pledge amount by emailing me. You can increase your pledge until the last day of the auction.

WHEN we combine the two teams, BBBOF and TT50, I will still be in charge of my members and Squalls will be in charge of hers. IF you have pledged there and here, then you are on the line for BOTH amounts...you can pay them both at once, and then send the receipt to me and to Squalls. I'll know what your pledge is, and will mark you paid for that amount. Squalls will do the same. So, if you pledged $5 for Team BBBOF and $5 for Team TT50, then your receipt should reflect the TOTAL amount: $10...

*Example: $10 Jane/Motu Auction Team TT50 ($5)&BBBOF($5)

"Donated Amount $US" "Your Name" / "Name of Auction" "Team Name/amount--TeamName/amount"

Does that help?
